Anaerobic digestion of biomass to produce biogas (methane + CO₂), applied to either primary biomass or to
process fractions emerging as by-products during biorefining, is a crucial step in obtaining true sustainability
in biorefining. NorBioLab has a large national facility for research on biogas production, including tools for advanced microbiological and biochemical analyses of the processes.
